Our Mission:
We are a health education and community organizing organization with the primary goal of improving the health and longevity of Washtenaw County citizens by increasing health literacy and health knowledge, as well as providing evidence-based health education.
Our Goals:
Our primary goal is to increase health literacy in the Washtenaw County population through education and workshops, especially in populations where the needs are highest. In addition to increasing health literacy, we organize and empower the community through neighborhood health coalitions to provide local support to help each other live longer, better lives. Our secondary goal is to bring a Blue Zones® Project to Washtenaw County.

The Basics:
Washtenaw Optimal Wellness is a Michigan Domestic Nonprofit Corporation and is a 501(c)(3) public charity (ID# 802397936, EIN# 84-4294845). We are a community organization of individuals committed to the health and longevity of the citizens of Washtenaw County. We are business people, medical professionals, city and county government leaders, as well as school and university educators, who are passionate about making our community healthy.
We are currently gaining momentum and support from leadership in our communities to launch a ‘Blue Zones®’ Project. Our goals are multi-fold – read our Vision Statement. We want to make healthier choices easier in Washtenaw County.

Washtenaw Optimal Wellness (WOW) is a Michigan Domestic Nonprofit Corporation and is a 501(c)(3) public charity (ID# 802397936, EIN# 84-4294845).
All donations are tax-deductible.
Donations will be used to help Washtenaw County citizens make healthier choices through membership pledges and educational programming to teach lifestyle medicine principles. Donations will also be used to bring a Blue Zones Project to Washtenaw County.
You can donate to WOW online using Zeffy. There is no fee to you or us through Zeffy, but they ask for a donation for their services when you are checking out, but it isn’t required. All donations through Zeffy will automatically generate a receipt.
